In RS today, I was struck by a comment a dear friend of mine made. The lesson was on Joseph Smith. She pointed out a phrase I had not pondered upon much in the past..."It seems as though the adversary was aware, at an early period of my life, that I was destined to prove a disturber and an annoyer of his kingdom; else why should the powers of darkness combine against me?"
When my friend pointed this phrase out during the lesson, I realized that if we ever feel weighed down or like the powers of darkness are combined against us it is because the adersary knows our capabilities and our potential. Life will have challenges and plenty of difficulties for us all, but when life gives us a challenge and we stumble we can take comfort in knowing we have power to overcome all obstacles. We have the power to make the adversary quake. We have the power to do good and to change the world!

“Life was never intended to consist of a glut of luxury, be an easy course, or filled only with success. There are those games which we lose, those races in which we finish last, and those promotions which never come. Such experiences provide an opportunity for us to show our determination and to rise above disappointment.”
