The first place we stopped was at Holly Lake....if you don't count the huckleberries we were picking and eating all along the trail. :) We climbed about 2500 feet from String Lake and had hiked about seven miles to reach Holly Lake. It was a great lake to take a swim and we did just that. :)
This picture was taken up on top of the Paintbrush Divide at over 10,000 feet.
As we began our decent from the divide down into Lake Solitude.
This was taken before we hit the canyon floor and lake Solitude.
The wildflowers were absolutely beautiful the whole way and I'd be lying if I said they didn't take my breath away. :)
Lake Solitude were we stopped for one final swim. The water was much colder here than it was up at Holly Lake.
Matt over-looking Jenny Lake-about three miles from the end of our twenty mile day hike.

We should never let fear keep us from reaching new heights. When this thought was shared in church on Sunday I thought about the ways fear has held me back in the past. I thought about more serious matters on Sunday. Whiile today, I put fear behind me....I spread my wings while shopping and bought things that weren't plaid. In fact, I didn't buy any plaid for my wardrobe today. I admit plaid is still my favorite....even if it does make me look like a lumber jack :)

My New Bike Helmet Protected Me Today!
Lately the Lord has been reminding me how fragile life is. I received my first concussion while I was out biking today. I had my head turned and had been looking over my shoulder because the truck behind me had been honking at me. I was trying to figure out why he was honking at me, because the road was narrow and I couldn't honestly get over any further. As I had my head turned a guy parked on the side of the road opened his door without looking and sent me flying over my handlebars. I don't remember any of that. Upon impact I had a seizure and received a concussion. My new helmet cracked in three places. I'm so grateful for the Lord's hand in my life and that He is ever mindful of me and forever protecting me! :) I'm grateful Dan encouraged me to get a helmet for my bike last week and to always ride with it.

Phelps Lake
A day off doesn't get any better than when it is filled with biking, hiking, and running! Jenni and I hiked to Phelps Lake today. On our adventure we got to see two moose...one had a really nice rack on him. We also say a traffic jam caused by a beaver. :) Disclaimer: We are not tourists, so you will not see pictures of the beaver, the moose or the traffic jams.
